According to the old adage, you can’t have it all. However, the residents of Greys Mews, Henley’s newest premium address, think they may just have struck lucky.
Paula Cardosi from Savills highlights what sets Greys Mews apart from many other new build developments: “All too often, buyers are asked to choose between location and quality. At Greys Mews, however, Oakford Homes has created an exemplar scheme with Henley’s aspirational lifestyle right on its doorstep.
“The development was always going to attract attention due to its location and when we opened the show home and buyers were able to see the quality for themselves it didn’t take long for those who visited to decide to buy. Many have now moved into their new homes and, as they settle in, are thrilled that their Henley dream is now a reality.”
Emma Forrester and her husband were looking to buy their first home together in Henley when they discovered Greys Mews. Brought up in the town, Emma was keen to return to her roots. They rented locally and had been searching for a while but hadn’t found a place they felt they could call home.
Emma said: “We had quite a long list of requirements and nothing quite measured up. I wasn’t convinced that a new build would be right for us, but being just down the road, we decided to take a look at the show home when it opened.
“I fell in love instantly. It was as though it had been designed with our lifestyle in mind. From the moment we stepped through the door we could see that every aspect of its design and build had been considered – I had never seen a new build of its calibre before. We both run businesses from home and so it needed to accommodate our professional needs, as well as being a home we could settle down in. Everything was in the right place and finished beautifully, with details such as USB ports, which went above and beyond our expectations. We are thoroughly enjoying our new home.”
Bridget Collins lived in Strawberry Hill for 25 years and, when she was offered a career change, decided to make the move to Henley, an area she knew and loved. It was the lifestyle that drew her into the town, and her purchase at Greys Mews meant that she could move in and start enjoying it.
She said: “I was originally looking for a renovation project but, after seeing what was on offer at Greys Mews, I realised that it was possible to buy a home that was already beautifully finished, leaving me the time to enjoy making new connections and enjoying all that Henley has to offer. I had lived in new builds before but always felt the need to make changes. The homes at Greys Mews however are different; spacious, well laid-out and tailor-made for modern living.
“I love being so well connected to the town centre and all that it has to offer, while also having the beautiful countryside on my doorstep. I wake up to church bells and the sounds of the cows in the fields, while in the evenings I enjoy watching the red kites circling overhead from my garden. It feels very tranquil. Equally, I am in the thick of a vibrant and friendly community, and, despite only moving in a few weeks ago, my social schedule is already jam-packed.”
Paula Cardosi adds: “I’m delighted but not surprised to have so many happy new residents. With the community growing and only one home now remaining for sale, anyone who is interested in viewing the scheme should move quickly.”
