When will the housing bubble burst?

It’s the question I get asked the most. From dinner parties to networking lunches. Once I introduce myself and we’ve parted with some small talk, the question on everyone’s lips is – when will the housing bubble burst?

With the Deputy Governor of The Bank of England, Sir Jon Cunliffe recently commenting on the UK’s spiraling property prices, it’s no wonder homeowners and purchasers are getting nervous.

According to Nationwide Building Society, house prices rose at 10.9 per cent annual rate in April and the Help to Buy scheme which guarantees mortgages to homebuyers with small deposits is bolstering the market.

Recent figures suggest house prices in London are up 18% on a year ago with some areas seeing a 30% rise…clearly this is not sustainable.

So my answer to the question is this – we simply can’t predict it. The only thing we can do is approach house buying like we would any other purchase. Buying a quality home should be an investment for your future happiness. If we fall in love with our home so will others.

At Oakford Homes, we aren’t sitting back and waiting to see what happens to the bubble. We are continuing to build superior houses and apartments in sought after locations that tempt even the most cautious of buyer.

This year our company is already making its mark in Berkshire with three schemes in Windsor and another in Twyford and we’re excited about future developments in Harefield, Middlesex and Midhurst, West Sussex.

It’s been a busy year so far with a new website and corporate image rebrand to showcase Oakford Homes to the industry and buyers who are looking for something special and unique.

Despite concerns over interest rate rises in 2015, Oakford Homes is confident that our schemes will continue to attract buyers because we’re building exclusive homes in aspirational locations.

Buying a home that is built to last with a high quality finish is one thing purchasers should always make sure they focus on. From ‘Smeg’ kitchen appliances to ‘Roca’ bathroom suites, an Oakford home has it all.

Buying a home is the biggest investment you are likely to ever make. Buying a new Oakford home will give you the freedom to enjoy life to the full.
