Launch of The Watermill Apartments

Easter Saturday, 15 April, sees the opening of the brand new show homes at The Watermill Apartments at Royal Quay, Harefield. The centrepiece building at this successful scheme of stylish apartments and contemporary townhouses ia set along the Grand Union Canal and features just seven apartments within a Grade II Listed former watermill.

“Each of the apartments is quite distinctive with some really unusual and appealing design elements which we’ve  and is being finished with very smart, contemporary specification throughout so we have taken the opportunity to present two show homes,” said Nicky Matthews of the award-winning developer, Oakford Homes.

To design the bespoke interior furnishings of the show homes, Oakford Homes appointed the professional designers at Interiors by Dapa.

Daniel Mumford, director at Dapa, explains, “We wanted to create a very stylish New York loft lifestyle alongside the beautiful features of a Grade II listed building. Achieving contemporary luxury living with exposed brickwork and pipe work is always an exciting challenge so we’ve introduced natural elements and elements of the urban warehouse trend which is so desirable.”

Incorporating black & white fashion photography, vintage leather and filament lighting reminiscent of cosmopolitan Manhattan, Dapa are presenting the one bedroom show home to maximum advantage which showing its inherent design features.

The larger two bedroom apartment will be in contrasting style, featuring more delicate styles and muted tones including bleached mango wood furniture offset by antique bronze light fittings.

“In the master bedroom a beautiful six light pendant features French ivory metal shades and soft brass metalwork,” says Daniel,” and the second bedroom takes the design journey in a slightly different, yet just as intriguing direction. A more urban feel is combined with other natural elements and muted aztec designs - another trend that will be hitting the design world.”

Daniel has carefully combined the two styles to create a thoroughly modern and stylish interior in this unique waterside setting.

All other properties at Royal Quay are now sold, with the exception of the two final townhouses. These elegant three storey homes are among ‘The Island Houses’ and a stamp duty offer is available to buyers, for a limited time only.
