Quality woven into every Fabric apartment

Quality woven into every Fabric apartment

When buying his first home, Luke was wary about choosing an apartment having rented in large, noisy blocks of flats. Fortunately, he discovered Fabric. This landmark development by Oakford Homes lies on the fringes of Maidenhead, where six distinctive buildings are home to luxury apartments.

“The design of the overall development definitely influenced me,” said Luke, who has recently moved into his new apartment at Fabric. “In this particular building, there are just six apartments with only two per floor. You don't even share adjoining walls because the staircase is in-between. It’s quite peaceful and you don't really hear anyone else which is pretty unusual for apartments.”

While renting locally, Luke was already aware of construction taking place at Fabric. So once he was ready to buy, he decided to find out more.

“Once I started looking in earnest and I saw the CGI images online, I knew I was going to have to see these apartments. I didn't realise how luxurious they would be or the sort of quality they were building here. Fabric was just ticking a lot of boxes - the apartments are a really nice size and very well finished, and it’s a great location just on the edge of town.”

Luke visited the show apartment to get a sense of the specification and finish that Oakford Homes consistently achieve. He was also able to see his preferred property while it was being finished. This gave him a feel for the overall size and all the natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows. His decision was made.

“In fact, I think my apartment is even better than the show home,” said Luke. “The worktops were upgraded to stone and the kitchen appliances are from Smeg, including the dishwasher and washer/dryer. All of them were integrated and working on arrival which was really helpful because I'm not one for DIY. It was just completely ready to live in.”

Flooring was also included in the price of the apartment at Fabric, unlike some of the other developments which Luke looked at. He finally settled on a well-designed 2 bedroom apartment with a large, south-facing balcony.

“Both bedrooms are very spacious and the balcony will be really brilliant for summertime,” said Luke. “The living space is all open plan which is what I was looking for. But it’s not just the internal aspects which impressed me. I like how Oakford Homes have finished the outside too. It looks really smart.”

Although Luke works from home for much of the time, on occasions when he has to drive, he’s found Fabric is well connected to the motorway network. Furze Platt station is within walking distance, and for rail commuters, it’s less than half an hour into central London.

“The location is excellent,” Luke said. “As well as being well connected, I’m really into running and walking. We’re right on the edge of town by the farmer's fields with miles and miles of countryside. For me, it’s pretty much perfect.”

Oakford Homes has released the latest collection of apartments at Fabric. One-bedroom apartments are available from £295,000 and two-bedroom apartments start from £375,000.

Private viewings can be arranged by contacting the sales team, Jackie and Jacqueline, at the show apartment which is open daily between 10am and 5pm (01628 522084). See here for more details.

“The sales team at Fabric have all been really friendly and helpful,” added Luke. “Any small issues have been resolved pretty much immediately, they’re very good. The whole buying process was made easy and the Fabric sales team were always responsive to any questions. Overall, I'm really chuffed with my apartment and I definitely recommend Oakford Homes.”
