The government’s Help to Buy equity loan scheme is open to everyone, whether you’re a first time buyer or looking to move your main residence whether downsizing or upsizing, provided your newly built home is less than £600,000.
Now the hugely popular scheme is available at Abingworth Meadows in Thakeham, where award winning housebuilder Oakford Homes is creating homes for 21st century living by providing a selection of 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom homes with prices from £419,950.
This weekend, Saturday 29 September, a brand-new show home will be unveiled. The Betony house design features three bedrooms, including a master bedroom with wardrobes and an ensuite shower room, and the generously sized living room spans the full width of the rear of the house with doors leading out to the garden. Prices for The Betony house designs start from just £419,950.
Also falling within the Help to Buy criteria are the four bedroom detached homes in The Woodsage design which are now available from £539,950. The homes have been designed with family living in mind, with an open plan kitchen/dining room leading on to the garden and the 23 ft living/family room also opening onto the garden. This house makes for perfectly practical day-to-day living as well as providing great entertaining space all year round.
“As you’d expect, Help to Buy does come with a few caveats but there’s nothing too tricky and there will be a Financial Adviser at the launch to help guide you,” explains Lesley McKay, sales adviser at Abingworth Meadows. “For example, you can’t sublet a home bought with Help to Buy and it has to be your only property but for most of us that’s the case anyway. The process itself is pretty straightforward too and we’ll help guide our buyers through the purchase which doesn’t take any longer as the Help to Buy systems are so well set up to run alongside a mortgage application.”
Help to Buy equity loans are available for up to 20% of the cost of your new home, which adds to your 5% deposit and 75% mortgage to complete the financial purchase. There are no loan fees charged on the Help to Buy loan for the first five years of owning your home, making budgeting easier as you move in.
